Everything changes for little Ru when her mother whisks her away to stay with her grandmother on the remote Isle of Skye, Scotland. Growing up she always heard tales of Selkies, the mythical creatures that resemble a seal in the water but assume human form on land. Little does she know, she’s about to meet one.
Sophia Carr-Gomm is a filmmaker from Sussex. She has directed numerous short films and music videos which have featured in prestigious film festivals internationally. She won ‘Best Director’ at Oslo Independent Film Festival for ‘The Wider Sun’ and continues to create film. She is particularly drawn to stories about unusual friendships and finding the poetry and humour in life and placing it on screen.
